GREENHOUSE GAS SAVINGS FROM WASTES AND RESIDUES
AROUND 90% GHG SAVINGS WHEN OUR BIODIESEL IS USED IN PLACE OF FOSSIL FUEL
We measure our sustainability impact by calculating our greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint to ensure compliance to the highest sustainability standards. The GHG emissions of biodiesel are significantly lower than conventional fossil diesel, by around 90%. Emissions are calculated over the entire life cycle of biodiesel production including waste and residue collection, treatment of product, transport in the supply chain, and transport to the customer.
Verified, audited.
At Argent we operate a traceability system for tracing our raw materials with the mass balance approach. All our locations are ISCC-EU certified and our biodiesel is eligible for double counting in several European Union member states.
The sustainability of our biodiesel and other products is regularly checked and verified under relevant schemes, including those developed by the EU, UK and Dutch governments, as well as those applicable to any other country that wants to make use of our fuel. Before we report on GHG savings, they are calculated in accordance with the methodology laid down by the EU Commission or the UK’s Department for Transport and audited to confirm their accuracy.
Argent takes a leading role in developing strict and robust measures for verifying the sustainability of biofuels, audits and verifications are always executed by third-party independent parties.
OUR BIODIESEL IS AS TOXIC AS SALT AND AS BIODEGRADABLE AS SUGAR
ARGENT FUELS CAN HELP YOU REDUCE YOUR SCOPE 1 AND 3 EMISSIONS
We trust the diverse range of biodiesel applications will help contribute to your sustainability goals.
We encourage reaching out if you have specific requirements with regard to demonstrable GHG reduction, or novel and tailor-made sustainability requirements. Argent will proudly join you in your decarbonisation journey.
OUR PROCESS CREATES OTHER WASTE STREAMS THAT ARE TURNED INTO VALUE-ADDED PRODUCTS
By-products are:
- Renewable fertiliser that goes to agriculture
- Renewable glycerine that enhances production of biogas at anaerobic digestion plants. This gas displaces fossil gas and is used in all domestic and industrial applications.
- Renewable marine biofuel oil (Marine BFO) that is helping reduce GHG emissions in sea-going shipping
